Lord Shiva. Sadasiva, Devadhideva Mahadeva, the Lord of Three Worlds.. Much known as AdiGuru, because he is the Zenith of Wisdom, Apex of Intellectuality and Pinnacle of Divine Knowledge. Surprisingly, Lord Shiva never made any disciples or selected any apprentices himself.
The ardent seekers themselves considered Lord Shiva as their prime master and through their years of fervent worship and constant pious efforts they have pleased Mahadeva to teach them some valuable knowledge. Lord Sadashiva chose then his disciple line very carefully and it is said that he gave his most valuable knowledge to the first batch of SaptRishis- the seven immortal sages who are renowned for their “divine knowledge inheritance.”
The first spiritual discourse however recorded between Lord Sadashiva and his wife Lady Sati who was reincarnation of Devi AdiShakti- the primal consort of Lord Sadashiva. The recital of divine couplets have been recorded maximum about Tantra and other mysterious disciplines between Lord Shiva and Lady Parvati who took form of sacred Yogini and asked Lord Shiva the questions as curious seeker and Lord Shiva channelized the cascade of knowledge to his beloved.
Lord Sadashiva is epitome of Spiritual, Yogic, Vedic and Tantric Disciplines which are considered as counteract of each other and it is said that the seeker or the devotee no matter how much he tried, can only master one discipline only in his entire lifetime. That’s why, it is no surprise when Lord Shiva departed different disciplines of Dharma and transferred Spiritual and Vedic Knowledge to Seven Seers and their linage while Yoga and Tantric disciplines to Parvati in her Yogini form.
Lord SadaShiva benevolently bestowed his grace upon Lord Dattatreya who was said incarnation of Lord Narayana. Lord Dattatreya had absorbed the Shaivite, Vaishnavite, Brahmin and Shakt Shadhna Parampara at very early age successfully. Lord Shiva was very pleased with Lord Dattatrya’s sincere efforts and declared him as गुरुणाम गुरु – means ‘Master of All Masters’.
Lord Dattreya then started his own cult or clan and started accepting the disciples through rigorous examinations. Lord Parshuram, Lord Sahastrajun, Lord Agastya were some of his primary disciples who took the great knowledge of Lord Sahashiva from Lord Dattatreya and spread it around the world. Howsoever, unlike Lord Sadashiva, Lord Dattatreya was very strict, disciplined and throughout in deliverance of knowledge and therefore he divided the entire stream of wisdom in different parts and formed the sects for Tantra, Yoga, Mantra, Kriya, Sadhna, Spiritual and Philosophical paths. Lord Dattatreya then did the great task that no one would ever think about even to do in entire human history. He collected the essence of each discipline and submerged them in one basic cultivation path.
Lord Shiva already taught ‘ The Cosmology’ to Lord Dattatreya, who was son of Rishi Atri and since childhood Lord Dattatreya was very much interested in forming and drawing the geometric patterns of molecules and energy particles like his father who himself was a Sapt-Rishi- one of the Seven Seers batch. Lord Dattatreya has formed a very complex geometric foundation for entire Cosmic Energy and concealed all the primordial essence of entire cosmos in to it. To further prevent it falling in wrong hands, Lord Dattatreya has formed various sects and tribes along with the master linage for each sect whose primary task is to not only protect the Cosmology or we can say the ‘Knowledge of Primordial Seed’ but also to channelize, transmit and teach the truly deserving devotees so the knowledge always remain survived no matter which timeline or which Yuga the world is coming across.
The primal, esoteric and most sacred knowledge of primordial seed that transmitted by Lord Sadashiva to Lord Dattatreya is called ShriVidya that later formed by Lord Dattatreya in one utmost beautiful and mysterious geometric pattern called Shri Chakra or Shri Yantra.
As narrated above, multiple disciplines and following sects were formed to protect the understanding of this ever mysterious, most sacred and great formation of Shri Yantra. It is said by wise sages that without initiated properly in at least one sect of it that formed by Lord Dattatreya himself, no one can reach anywhere. The formation is more like labyrinth, maze or puzzle and it took several amounts of births or multiple timelines to even achieve the grace of those great masters who are known for having authentic knowledge of it.
It is wisely said.. Without Master the Disciple is like headless body, has no direction.. no sense of understanding and never meet his destination ever.
